A closed circuit
We are aware of the responsibility we bear regarding the environment as a company that processes plastics. That is why we advocate for the environmentally friendly handling of plastic waste – and set a good example. We have been working with energy-e ffi cient and resource-conserving technologies for some time now. And we have gathered years of experience along the way – as well as ideas for how we can continuously structure our production processes to be more environmentally friendly.
In 2017 some 19 million tonnes of plastic were produced in Germany, which equates to 37.6 kilograms of plastic packaging waste per capita. Using the 37.6 kilograms of plastic waste produced by a single person in one year, we could make up to 100 watering cans! Amazing, isn’t it? We think so too – and gladly accept the challenge.

SORTING
The plastic waste from waste disposal is sorted.
GRANULATION
The materials are broken up in the recycling facility, washed, separated and melted into single-type recycled plastics.
PRODUCTION
The recycled plastics can be processed just like new plastic into watering cans, for example.
USE
The new item is put to use – as a fl owerpot on the balcony or a watering can in the garden.
SEPARATION
If the product is disposed of properly in separated waste at the end of its useful life, the process starts over from the beginning!

Although our plastics are long-lasting and easy to maintain, even the most reliable watering can and the toughest fl owerpot will someday need to be disposed of. And because all of our products are recyclable, they can be added back into the recycling circuit. Who knows? Maybe there’s a piece of your old watering can in your new one.

This time, with our extensive energy management system based on the high standards of ISO 50001. In this way, we guarantee and likewise undertake to treat resources carefully. Environmentally compatible production, environmentally friendly products and the sparing use of energy create the basis for our commitment to sustainable climate protection.

The Geli code of conduct
Of course, we are a business-oriented company. But we work with and for people. And we are firmly convinced that this commits us to act humanely and to assume social responsibility. To emphasise these values that are so important to us, we have decided to make a binding code of conduct the basis of our action. We are therefore a proud signatory of the code of conduct to implement ethical and social principles of the German Association of Plastics Converters (GKV). All the employees at Geli are thereby under an obligation to always conduct themselves in a fair and respectful manner towards other people and to orientate themselves towards the international provisions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In addition, our customers, partners and suppliers can rely on us to comply with strict regulations against corruption and anticompetitive agreements at all levels of our business.
